| In January of 1992, Jerry A. Buchanan and Clay D. Land formed
Buchanan & Land, LLP, after recognizing the need for a law firm practicing
exclusively in the arena of civil litigation. Having been litigation partners in
the full-service Columbus law firm of Hatcher, Stubbs, Land, Hollis &
Rothschild, they had both developed extensive experience in a wide variety of
litigated matters, including personal injury, wrongful death, products
liability, motor vehicle accidents, insurance disputes, medical malpractice, and
commercial/business litigation. Buchanan & Land, LLP represents individuals who have been
injured at the hands of others, as well as institutional
clients, including public utilities, banks and other lending institutions, trust
companies, insurance companies, and large and small businesses. The firms
lawyers have significant trial and appellate experience and are licensed to
practice in State and Federal courts in Georgia and Alabama, including the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the
United States Supreme Court.
Buchanan & Land is committed to aggressive advocacy for
each and every client, with each client receiving direct attention from the
partner in the firm responsible for the clients work.
All of the partners at Buchanan & Land, LLP come from
strong academic backgrounds, having maintained positions in the upper ten
percent of their undergraduate and law school classes. This academic emphasis,
coupled with extensive practical experience, allows the firm to provide its
clients with legal representation unsurpassed anywhere within the region.
The firm also believes that lawyers have an obligation to be
actively involved in the communities where they practice their profession, and
consequently, the attorneys in the firm actively participate in the affairs of
the community and state.
